Independent Testing

Retrofit Fire Door Kit, installed on a typical wooden hollow core door, was also tested under real fire conditions at Toronto Fire Department's Etobicoke Training Tower. The fire was contained for over one hour with temperature reaching over 2000 degrees F. Retrofitted door did not fail. The fire had to be extinguished due to structural failure of the building components but not the retrofitted door. After this test the Retrofit Kit has received  the Canadian Firefighter Magazine's Seal of Approval. 

a) Skids and gasoline soaked cushions used for burn test 

b) View of fire in room where   door was tested 

c) Handle on the inside of the door melted          

d) 20 minutes - moisture seen from wood

e) 1 hour into burn - no  damage to exterior of the door

f) After burn inside of the door shows only  discoloration of metal
